Cleanliness a Problem in Selangor Hospitals

The situation at some of our hospitals in Selangor is turning chaotic, not only in terms of the number of patient but now there seems to be a problem of cleanliness and rubbish collection.

It’s been brought to my notice that in 2014, Radicare who has been contracted to clean all hospitals have cut manpower. From the usual 120 workers, it’s now 20 only. This gives rise to dirty toilets and general uncleanliness in hospital wards. This goes to show how privatisation to crony companies is now affecting government agencies.

Hospitals are places where the sick go to, if even these institutions are not kept clean because companies are cutting down on manpower, it’s high time to review the contract given to these companies. People’s health and safety should come first and not monetary gain. We again called upon the government to review all contract given to private companies by the MOH, to cut cost and to become more efficient.
