Selangor exco Xavier Jayakumar lodged a police report at Klang police station this morning, claiming several individuals had made a baseless and false allegations against him.
The report was made against Klang's Parents Teachers Association chairperson, G Jeganathan.
He also named former Selangor PKR treasurer, KS Kotappan, in the report.
Jaganathan had lodged a police report against Xavier on Jan 17, 2010 over allegations that the Xavier had misused the state's Tamil schools education allocation amounting to RM1.67 million.
Jaganathan, in his report, alleged misappropriation when Xavier channelled the money to three Indian non-government organisations (NGOs).
The police, in their investigation, questioned Xavier, the Sri Andalas assemblyperson two days later.
The amount was channelled to NGOs-Child Information, Learning and Development Centre (Child), Tamil Foundation Malaysia, and Educational, Welfare and Research Foundation.
Program coordinator for the NGOs, K Arumugam, has cleared the air surrounding the controversy.
He said that the three NGOs have collectively received RM1,588,380 from the Selangor state government to improve Tamil schools in Selangor.
The allocation has been used to fund various programs such as extra classes for slow learners, schools surveys and student awareness camps, to improve the educational standards of the underprivileged.
