PSM Deeply Concerned With Dr. Jeyakumar's Health

PSM DEEPLY CONCERNED WITH DR. JEYAKUMAR’S HEALTH

Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) learned that its Member of Parliament  and Central Committee member, Dr. Jeyakumar was taken to Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) on 9 july after complaining of heart palpitations. He is currently warded at the Coronary Care Unit of the IJN.

PSM would like to express our deep concern on the health condition of  Dr. Jeyakumar  as this is the second time that he has been taken to Hospital since his detention on 26 June 2011. We suspect his condition is due to the long hours of interrogations by the Police Special Branch. Other detainees have also expressed similar ordeal as the police is trying to force them to admit things they have not done.

PSM holds the Prime Minister and the Police responsible if anything happens to our members. PSM calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all PSM EO detainees. Please charge them in an open court if they have breached any laws.
